On Tuesday, 12 September, a delegation led by member of the Indonesian parliament, Prof. Hendrawan Supratikno, visited Erasmus School of Economics and Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Hatta building
The visit started at the Erasmus Plaza where the delegation was welcomed by the Director of Alumni Affairs and Development, Charles Hermans and board member of the Indonesian Students Association(PPI Rotterdam), Ika Eryani. The delegation was led by Prof. Hendrawan Supratikno who is a member of the Indonesian parliament and further consisted of members of the staff of Prof. Supratikno. The tour then continued to Hatta building, named after Mohammed Hatta, one of the founders of Indonesia and prominent alumnus of Erasmus School of Economics. The building acts as short stay housing for incoming international students and offers room for 372 students.

Home of Economics
Then the delegation went on to visit several other buildings at Campus Woudestein such as the E-building, the Home of Erasmus School of Economics. Pictures were made with the famous quote by Jan Tinbergen "Distribution generates profit" and some more were taken behind his desk. Next up on the tour was a meeting with the president of Erasmus University Rotterdam, Prof. Ed Brinksma. Gifts were exchanged and after a good conversation the delegation headed on to the Erasmus Gallery.
Good Relations
After looking at the Economic Medal Showcase in the Erasmus Gallery, with amongst others a medal from 1531 owned by Desiderius Erasmus himself, this amazing afternoon came to an end. The visit to Campus Woudestein was enabled by Erasmus School of Economics alumnus Kwik Kian Gie, former coordinating minister for Economic Affairs in Indonesia. The visit was once again a token of the good relationship between Erasmus University Rotterdam and its Indonesian alumni.
