In his research, Cavicchia focuses on the methodological and computational aspects of data analysis and clustering. In 2023, he was awarded the Erasmus School of Economics starter grant to support his research initiatives. At the conference, he presented his paper “Nearest neighbors for mixed type data: an inter-dependency based approach,” co-authored with Michel van de Velden, Alfonso Iodice D’Enza, and Angelos Markos. Reflecting on the conference, Cavicchia noted the ‘high scientific level and a strong sense of community’ among the participants.
