The comprehensive package of tax anti-avoidance and evasion measures of State Secretary for Finance Menno Snel has been poorly received in the tax consultancy world. The main criticism is that Menno Snel proposes stricter rules on several points than the minimum requirements imposed by the European Union and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

'You must follow the EU guidelines, but I do not understand why the State Secretary for Finance tightens the rules more than necessary. That way you can price yourself out of the market as a country of residence ', says Peter Kavelaars, Professor of Fiscal Economics at Erasmus School of Economics and Director of the scientific office of Deloitte.
