Guest lecture by State Secretary for Tax Affairs and the Tax Administration Marnix van Rij

On Monday 27 November, Marnix van Rij, State Secretary for Tax Affairs and the Tax Administration, will give a guest lecture for students in the field of Economics of Taxation and Tax Law from respectively Erasmus School of Economics and Erasmus School of Law.

The lecture focuses on budget policy and the Tax Plan 2024. Budget and climate will also be discussed. The State Secretary has indicated that he would like to discuss these current topics with the students. The intention is to create a interactive guest lecture.

In addition to students, the guest lecture is also open to other interested parties.

About Marnix van Rij

Marnix van Rij (1960) has been State Secretary for Tax Affairs and the Tax Administration in the Rutte IV cabinet since 10 January, 2022. In the period 2015-2019 he also served as a Senator, a part-time position in the Netherlands. As a Senator, his portfolio consisted of tax affairs, among other themes.

On 15 February 2020, van Rij was appointed as the Island Governor of Sint-Eustatius. After this, Van Rij was interim party chairman for CDA in 2021.
