Errasicuriazione donates to the Erasmus School of Economics Fund

Last week, former board members of V.E.D. Erassicurazione visited the campus for an evening filled with enjoyment. We thank them for visiting us.

This past summer, the alumni association of V.E.D. Erassicurazione, the former economics of insurance association, decided to cease their operations. Between 1993 and 2005 this association assisted students enrolled in this specialization under supervision of Professor G.W. De Wit. With funds left over, the association donated close to 6000 Euros to the Erasmus School of Economics Fund earlier this summer. Amongst other things, the Fund grants scholarships that enable talented youth from impoverished backgrounds to develop into the economic leaders of the future. We thank V.E.D. Errassicurazione and its former members for their generous contribution.

Past week, former board members of Erassicurazione visited the campus. Charles Hermans, the director of Alumni Affairs, gave them a tour around the campus to show them highlights like the desk of Tinbergen.  Their Professor, G.W. de Wit, had some other interesting hobbies next to the association and insurance. He used to be the administrator of the Netherlands Economic Medal Cabinet. A great collection of Dutch medals, which includes the medal for the Nobel prize of Jan Tinbergen. After the tour, the former students received an eyeopening presentation from Herman Gerritsen, the successor of Prof. G.W. de Wit as administrator of the medal cabinet. The evening was finished with a lovely dinner on the campus. We hope they had a fun and informative evening and hope to see them again soon.
