On 18 September 2018 the French daily newspaper Le Monde published an interesting article about the effects / consequences of the use of digital devices by students in the class room. A growing number of teachers in France impose for courses where a so called ‘weapon of mass distraction’ is prohibited. Anne Boring, Assistant Professor at Erasmus School of Economics has reviewed on this theme and says: ‘Overall, the effect of the computer is rather negative on students. The loss of attention is substantial.’ Anne Boring does not advocate a formal prohibition of digital devices during in her class room, she rather prefers to warn her students.
