Alumnus Maikel Samsom is awarded Professor Lambers Prize

Former student Maikel Samsom is awarded the Professor Lambers Prize. The Prize is presented to an outstanding student with two master’s degrees. This year two candidates achieved exceptional results, which is why the jury decided to honour them both. One of them is Maikel Samsom.

He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Erasmus School of Economics with a Master’s degree in Economics & Business Economics and from Erasmus School of Law with a Master’s degree in Liability & Insurance. In the meantime, he also obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, once again Magna Cum Laude. The jury is impressed by Maikel’s exceptional academic performance and the wide range of extracurricular activities. Maikel plans to invest the prize money in various courses that he will be attending in the context of his doctoral research into ‘Privacy and Personal Injury’.

Maikel will receive the Professor Lambers Prize at the Opening of the Academic Year 2018-2019 on Monday 3 September 2018. The festive ceremony, which will take place in the Laurens Church in the city centre of Rotterdam. Erasmus University Rotterdam is celebrating its 21st lustrum. The theme of the festive programme is ‘Science Meets City: Co-creating Knowledge’.
