Jeroen Hinloopen had only been a board member of Statistics Netherlands (CPB) for one year when he fell out of a tree. 'It felt like there were fifty elephants walking over me'. He recovered with an excel-spreadsheet at hand.
In this article, Jeroen Hinloopen talks about his accident, his recovery and returning back to work. He calls his recovery a story of success. Hinloopen can use his bike again and can even walk using a walker or two crutches. 'My view on life has not changed because of the accident. I'm not going to swoon every time I see a flower bloom. And I'm still in a bad mood every time Ajax loses.'
