The Minister of Finance announced this news on Friday, 11 October. Laura van Geest will take the role of chair at the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). She will be appointed for four years.
Make a difference
'Financial markets are constantly chancing', says Van Geest. 'Think of Brexit, the increasing role of data-analysis and globalisation. Honest and transparent financial markets that companies and consumers can trust on, cannot be taken for granted. The AFM can make a difference as a supervisor. I am happy to contribute to that as chair.'
