This course provides an in-depth exploration of field experiments as a methodological tool in economics and management research. By enabling rigorous causal inference, field experiments allow researchers to test theories and evaluate policies in real-world settings. The course covers experimental design, data collection, and statistical analysis, integrating both theoretical foundations and practical considerations, such as ethical challenges and data privacy concerns.
A particular focus will be placed on the complexities of conducting experiments with and within firms and organizations, including issues related to implementation or stakeholder engagement, for instance.
Through a combination of lectures, discussions, and real-world case studies, participants will refine their ability to design and execute high-quality experiments, strengthening their contributions to empirical research in economics and management.
