For three decades, Dianne led the charge for the empowerment of women in academia and business and she worked tirelessly to place gender equality and diversity firmly on the agendas of our school and of Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), as well as more broadly within academia and the international business community.
The founding Executive Director of the Erasmus Centre for Women and Organisations (ECWO), Dianne touched the lives of thousands across the globe, leaving a legacy of inspiration and strength. She described her own her professional journey as a “privilege and an absolute blast.” On her passing in 2021, members of the ECWO team poignantly noted, “we are heartbroken at the loss of one of the world’s most remarkable women.”
The Dianne Bevelander Memorial Fund provides an opportunity for the community that Dianne created – and which continues to thrive and grow – to play an role in continuing the legacy of this extraordinary woman, to ensure that women truly lead from wherever they are.
