Introduction
Different student groups often bring various challenges for you as a teacher. You might need to ensure a productive learning atmosphere, balance having authority with being friendly, and deal with difficult or challenging students or situations. During this MicroLab you will role-play difficult situations that might occur in the classroom and practice different teaching styles/strategies on how to address them.

Target group and required prior knowledge
This MicroLab is intended for teachers, TAs and Tutors that are interested to further develop their teaching skills.
Form and time investment
This MicroLab has a blended character. You will start in the online Canvas environment containing support materials. As a preparation, you will be asked to think and prepare a case of a difficult situation you have experienced or expect to experience during the tutorials (about 3 hours of total preparation time). During the physical workshop (3h) you will roleplay prepared difficult cases with a training actor and together with the group discuss the feedback and application of group dynamics theories.
Earn an Edubadge
If you made the preparation and participated in the session, you can earn an Edubadge. This is a digital, visual certificate which you can share on e.g. LinkedIn. Interested parties can immediately click on the certificate to find out what you have done to achieve the Edubadge.
