How to explain complex ideas in a simple way

MicroLab

Introduction

In this MicroLab you will learn how to clarify intricate subjects. The ability to clearly explain complex concepts or ideas in a simple and understandable way is essential for effective teaching. During your teaching sessions, students might often ask you to explain something once more, provide alternative examples, or perhaps look confused. As a teacher, you want to be able to craft your explanation in a way that everyone in the class can follow.

This MicroLab provides inspiration and ideas for educators grappling with making their complex content accessible to their learners. You will be provided with the tools to shine when you lecture: no more reading out loud your slides, or having a group of confused students in front of you. You will learn to pick the right approach that fits your content and your audience and learn how to improve your PowerPoint in a way that supports your lecture (chunks)

Earn an Edubadge

You will conclude the MicroLab with a Proof of Competence. You can then earn an Edubadge. This is a digital, visual certificate that you can share on LinkedIn, for example, and which an interested party can click on directly to see what you have done to earn the Edubadge.
