Introduction
Formative assessment is one of the most effective strategies in student learning. In this MicroLab you learn how to integrate formative assessment in your course or education. We work based on three steps that we will go through in the MicroLab. These steps are: formulating success criteria associated with learning objectives, design activities you can use to conduct formative assessment, and creating a feedback plan. Because you make an assignment for every strategy, you will ultimately have a basis for the integration of feedback in your course.

Target group and required prior knowledge
This MicroLab is primarily intended for teachers who are responsible for a course. Teachers who have little influence on a course can participate but will not be able to implement their final implementation plan completely.
For this MicroLab, it is recommended that the University Education Qualification (UTQ) has been obtained, or that this MicroLab is part of your UTQ. It builds on the final competences of the UTQ-trajectory.
Content, form and time investment
You start in the online learning environment with the preparation of assignments based on supporting materials (total time investment: 2 to 3 hours).
We will discuss these preparatory assignments in the workshop itself. You hereby receive peer feedback on the submitted assignments. We will then go further through the process of integrating feedback into your education. Ultimately, you have created the basis for an integration plan for feedback. You will be able to use this immediately in practice.
To complete this MicroLab, you actually also perform a formative assessment, which you then reflect on in terms of the chosen activity and the quality of the feedback. You can opt for the use of expert feedback or peer feedback.
Earn an Edubadge
If you made the preparation and participated in the session, you can earn an Edubadge. This is a digital, visual certificate which you can share on e.g. LinkedIn. Interested parties can immediately click on the certificate to find out what you have done to achieve the Edubadge.
