Introduction
Jealous of colleagues who use engaging, effective videos in their course? You can do this too! Register for the MicroLab ‘How to create an educational video’: a personalized training trajectory that will teach you how to design and deliver a compelling educational video from start to finish.
Well-structured and delivered educational videos can enhance learning, improve student engagement, and make complex topics more accessible. However, delivering an effective video requires more than just subject expertise, it demands clear scripting, confident presentation, and the ability to engage an audience through the screen.
This MicroLab trajectory will enable you to create your own educational video. It is spread over 3-4 weeks and provides a step-by-step approach. You will learn how to structure your content effectively, develop a well-crafted script, use the DIY booth or the large Erasmus Studio and speak on camera with confidence.

This MicroLab is designed for teachers who want to make an educational video to use in education. There is no specific prior knowledge required.
Content, form and time investment
This training is spread over 3-4 weeks. The total time investment is approximately 8 hours distributed over ca. 4-6 hours of preparation, script writing, and script adjustments, and 2 hours during the training day. Timeline of the training:
In the first week, we ask you to individually review educational materials about making an educational video and submit a draft structure and a draft script of your video on the Canvas page of the MicroLab.
In the second week, you will receive feedback on your draft script and will have time to implement the changes and complete the final version.
In the third/fourth week, we will have a 2h camera training in the large studio or DIY booth with one of our trainers. In the first part of the camera training, you’ll warm up for speaking and experiment with different ways of speaking on camera using part of your script. In the second part, you will deliver your whole script and receive feedback from the trainer. This training will be scheduled based on the availability of you as a teacher, Risbo trainer, and the studio.
