Biography
Petra Tenbült (1977) is a lecturer in the Department of Media and Communication at Erasmus University. Petra studied Cognitive (Educational) Psychology at Maastricht University and in 2001 she became a PhD student at the Department of Health Promotion and Health Education of Maastricht University. Her dissertation was funded by a N.W.O. research program and investigated the underlying psychological processes when consumers get confronted with novel (food) technologies.
In 2006 Petra worked for an international company where she investigated how psychological phenomena can be applied to understand the preferences of consumers for fast moving consumer goods. Between 2007 and 2012 she worked as a lecturer at the Department of Marketing Management of Tilburg University. In this position, she tought (and coördinated) several consumer behavior courses for Business Studies and International Business.
The publications of Petra are mainly in the field of consumer behavior. Besides psychology and consumer behavior she enjoys to supervise and coach students with their bachelor and master thesises and to teach courses that are related to statistics and research methods.
