C (Caglar) Koseoglu, MA

Biography

Ça?lar Köseo?lu (1985) studied philosophy and literature in the Netherlands, Turkey and the US. He received his second MA in Aesthetics and Politics at California Institute of the Arts thanks to a Fulbright scholarship. At EUC, he teaches mostly on literature, politics and postcolonial theory. His debut collection of poetry, 34, was published as a chapbook by Stanza Press and his poems have appeared among others in Samplekanon, nY, Kluger Hans, Deus Ex Machina, Cabaret Wittgenstein and Kunsttijdschrift Vlaanderen. He has performed his poems in the US, Belgium and the Netherlands, among others at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at the University of Southern California, YAhora &NOW at Avenue 50 Studio in Los Angeles, Vooruit in Gent, de Avonden at VPRO Radio 6. He is the editor of nY, a Flemish literary Journal, and of Contrivers' Review, an American digital journal on politics, critique and theory. He is also a member of the Poetry Advisory Commission of the Flemish Foundation for Literature.
