Biography
Dr. Aviv Barnoy is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Media and Communication within the ESHCC school at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He is a member of the Dutch Governmental Sector plan for social sciences and humanities. Barnoy’s research interests cover a wide range of contemporary issues, including #trust, #strategic communication, #digitalization, #AI epistemology, and #misinformation studies. Much of his work is interdisciplinary, incorporating philosophical theories and concepts to explore social phenomena. Barnoy's research has been published in top-tier academic journals and presented at numerous international conferences. He also frequently engages with national media, providing insights and analyses that inform and shape public discourse. Dr. Barnoy actively collaborates with a variety of stakeholders, including industry professionals, citizens, and regulators. His contributions have been recognized by research grants and awards from a variety of organizations such as the International Communication Association (ICA), the Israel Science Foundation (ISF), Komorov Fund, The 2nd Authority for Media, Zefat College Fund, AiPact, and more.Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication
