Over the years, Peter Kavelaars, Professor of Economics of Taxation at Erasmus School of Economics, has written several columns in the Antillean newspaper Antilliaans Dagblad. The professor's columns have been compiled and published by the Caribbean Tax and Europe Shop Foundation (SCB). One hundred copies of the booklet will be made available, and it can also be downloaded online for free.
In 'Fiscal perils', Kavelaars discusses current tax affairs that are particularly relevant to the Caribbean Kingdom. The professor discusses complex tax topics and explains them in an understandable way. The topics discussed are still relevant and cover, for example, wealth issues, minimum tax and tax treaties.
Germaine Rekwest, a lecturer in tax law at the University of Curaçao, was the initiator of the booklet: ‘I still regularly fluff the archives of the Antilliaans Dagblad in search of one of Peter's columns. It was then that the idea came to me to collect the columns. The columns definitely deserve a permanent place in a collection and thus had to become available to the general public’.
The collection is available online from today and can be downloaded via the website of Antilliaans Dagblad. Later this year, the printed bundle will also be available for free at local bookstores in Curaçao.
