RSM awards ambitious community plan with €15,000

I WILL Award 2016

A fund of €15,000 has been set aside as the top prize in a competition that is open to everyone involved with Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM). It will be awarded to the individual or team, made up of students, staff members, alumni network or from a business that has a new plan or idea – or an existing one – that makes the best and most outstanding contribution and also shows willpower, ambition, and the desire to be active for change.

The I WILL Award 2016 competition is based on RSM’s forward-thinking I WILL movement, which encourages members of the RSM community, particularly students, to consider their individual goals and how they might achieve them. The winner of the €15,000 award will be decided in the live final on 3 March 2016, an exciting night of live presentations and debate called I WILL Get in the Ring.

Whether it’s a new or existing plan that can be boosted, the plan must be a proof of willpower, and inspire others. “The winning plan or idea needs to show it has the potential to become inspirational and serve as an example for the rest of the world,” said Dean of RSM, Professor Steef van de Velde.

The world-class idea must have potential to be put into action, and make a tangible impact in a society or community, can be a plan from the worlds of academia, business, media, sports or public services. The best ideas will battle each other at the spectacular final, which is called the I WILL Get in the Ring event. The winning plan will be awarded €15,000 of funding for implementation.

I WILL is the movement of Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) that shows the ambitions and motivations of the entire community of RSM. This is the third time that RSM has presented the I WILL Award. Previous competitions were held in 2012 and 2014. The closing date for applications for the I WILL Award is 15 January 2016.
