Nineteen researchers from Erasmus University Rotterdam are considered to be among the most influential scientists in the world. They are listed in the recently published Highly Cited Researchers listing for 2015 by Thomson Reuters. This means that Rotterdam is home to the university that has the most researchers in this list of hot researchers.

Thomson Reuters publishes an annual report on the world’s most influential researchers, based on highly cited articles between 2003 and 2013. Articles ranking among the top 0.1 percent most cited are regarded as hot research, research that has influenced the future of the field.

This year nineteen scientists from the Erasmus University are named in the list. Last year this number was fifteen. This, once again, makes the university in Rotterdam the institution in the Netherlands with the most researchers on the list. Moreover, Justin Jansen and Henk Volberda (RSM) are the only two Dutch researchers listed in their field. Erasmus University is primarily represented by researchers from Erasmus MC.

All nineteen names can be viewed using this link.

In total, 81 researchers from the Dutch research institutions are considered Highly Cited Researchers of 2015. The list by Thomson Reuters contains approximately 3000 researchers who, according to Thomson Reuters, have exceptional impact.
