Mary Pieterse-Bloem, Professor of Financial Markets at Erasmus School of Economics, was part of BNR Nieuwsradio's investor panel. Here, she discussed several topics together with Wim Zwanenburg.
The Amsterdam AEX is heading for its first expansion in decades. The expansion will enlarge the stock exchange with five additional companies. Pieterse-Bloem can imagine that this will be a better presentation of the Dutch economy. She sees this as a positive movement. More attention will therefore be drawn to those companies by analysts and specialists.
Tightened supervision, passive investing and the rise of AI are causing an extinction of the equity analyst profession. It is estimated that companies worldwide have depleted their analysts by 30 per cent.
RaboBank is adding a ninth fund to their portfolio. In less than a decade, the total pot of all funds has risen from 10 billion to 40 billion. On several fronts, the bank is thereby working to make the proposition for customers better.
