Shadi Sharif Azadeh, Assistant Professor at Erasmus School of Economics, has received the best paper award from the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS).
Her paper “A Two-Stage Route Optimization Algorithm for Light Aircraft Transport Systems” has been published in Transportation Research Part C: Emerging Technologies in 2019. Shadi was presented the award at the INFORMS annual meeting in Seattle, on 21 October 2019.
Shadi Sharif Azadeh is an assistant professor at the Econometric Institute of Erasmus School of Economics. She also holds research affiliate positions at EPFL (TRANSP-OR lab) and at MIT (ITS Lab). She obtained her PhD in Mathematics (Operations Research) in Montreal, Canada. Her research interests are mostly focused on integrating demand behavior in operational planning in the context of mobility, transportation and logistics.
The purpose of the INFORMS paper competition is to promote and bring visibility to recent contributions of the members in the field of operations research, management science, or information systems. Papers are judged on the basis of the originality of the research, technical rigor, relevance and impact to future theory or applications.
