Kate Raworth argues with her theory of Doughnut Economics that the aim of economic activity should not be endless growth. It should rather constitute of meeting the needs of all within the means of the planet. She states that instead of economies that need to grow, whether or not they make us thrive, we need economies that “make us thrive, whether or not they grow”. Robert Dur, Professor at Erasmus School of Economics, disagrees with Kate Raworth in an article in the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
According to Dur, Raworth is making a caricature of economists. He argues that not one economist believes that economic growth should be the aim of economic activity.
