UNIC is an alliance of ten universities across Europe. Every year, we have 5 A.A. van Beek scholarships of €2000 each to give away to EUR students applying for one of our partner’s summer schools.
Every EUR student can apply to one of the summer school programmes at UNIC partners. Students who meet certain criteria can apply for a €2000 A.A. van Beek scholarship. Below you can find an overview of all summer school programmes offered in 2025.
On the website of each partner university you can find more information about the application process. Be aware that each summer school programme has different dates and different application deadlines. You should first apply for the summer school of your choice before you apply for the A.A. van Beek scholarship.
Application opens on the 3rd of March 2025. Please note that you cannot submit your application before this date.
The deadline to apply for the A.A. van Beek scholarship is 31 March 2025.
The criteria to apply for the A.A. van Beek scholarship are:
- Be an EU student enrolled at EUR
- Be eligible for the additional DUO grant (you have to prove this by uploading a screenshot or letter from DUO that includes your name and shows that you are eligible for the grant)
- Have none or very few international experiences
- Agree to participate in an online evaluation survey afterwards
- Agree to participate in promotional activities related to UNIC
- Have applied to one of the summer school programmes mentioned in the list below
How to apply for the A.A. van Beek scholarship:
- First apply for the summer school program via the website of the UNIC partner university where you are going to do the summer school (see the links to the websites of the partner universities below in the summer school offer overview)
- Go to Osiris and click on ‘Stay Abroad’ (or ‘Buitenlandverblijf’ in Dutch) and start a new request
- At ‘Request for’ select ‘Current degree programme’
- At ‘Degree programme’ select your current study programme
- At ‘Stay Abroad’ select ‘Application Van Beek Scholarship’
- At ‘Start date’ and ‘End date’ fill out the start and end dates of the summer school programme you applied for
- Keep in mind that the application form will ask you to upload a few documents:
- Motivation letter (should be max. 1 A4, written in English and include your motivation to attend this summer school programme)
- Your CV (including your education, work experience and if applicable previous international experience)
- Acceptance letter from the summer school programme you are planning to attend
- Screenshot or letter from DUO as proof that you are eligible for the additional DUO grant and which includes your name (it is not necessary that you receive the additional DUO grant, but you should be able to prove that you are eligible for it)
