On May 14, 2024, IDEA Center is organising the event ‘Stop Sexual Street Harassment’ in cooperation with the Municipality of Rotterdam, WMO Radar, and the Stop Street Harassment Foundation to raise awareness around the issue and to connect students with organisations offering support. Drop by the Erasmus Plaza between 14:00 and 16:00 for a chat, free stroopwafels, and goodie bags!
Why an event against sexual street harassment?
Hissing, wolf-whistling, catcalling, making inappropriate remarks, or running after people. That's what we call sexual street harassment. Very annoying behaviour that happens to many people all too often. During the Rotterdam Week Against Sexual Street Harassment (May 14-17), the Municipality of Rotterdam organises various activities around the city in cooperation with other organisations. These activities contribute to raising awareness about sexual street harassment. EUR's IDEA Center is organising events on campus Woudestein as well.
Activities on Erasmus Plaza (free stroopwafels and goodiebags!): 14:00 - 16:00
More activities will take place from 14:00 to 16:00 at the Erasmus Plaza. Several organisations are involved. There will be a stroopwafel stand, bean bags to relax, and a high striker machine for fun. Also, there will be a limited number of goodie bags. First come, first served!
Organisers and partners
During the event, students are encouraged to speak with all the involved parties. There will be stands from Safe@EUR, Voice of All Women, the Municipality of Rotterdam, WMO Radar, the Stop Street Harassment Foundation, and the IDEA Center.
