Below is a brief summary of the dissertation:

Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a birth defect that affects around 1 in 2500
live born infants and despite improvements in clinical care only around 70% of the
infants survive to discharge. The main reason for mortality is the underlying lung
disease, translating into respiratory insufficiency and pulmonary hypertension after
birth. The research projects presented in this thesis focussed on specific aspects of
perinatal care in infants with CDH.
