On 31 May, the Diversity & Inclusion Office will show the movie ‘Ali, the goat and Ibrahim’ in collaboration with the Arab Film Festival Rotterdam. Afterwards there is a vegetarian 3 course Iftar dinner made by the EUR Sustainable Food Lab.
By coming together for the Iftar dinner – students and employees of the Erasmus University, Muslims and non-Muslims, religious and non-religious – the D&I office wants to contribute to more understanding and awareness about each other’s background.
The month Ramadan
While fasting from dawn until sunset, Muslims refrain from consuming food, drinking liquids and sinful behaviour. Fasting during Ramadan means being humble and modest and typically includes the increased offering of prayers and doing good deeds and charity.
Let’s all fast for one day and come together to share this experience and celebrate the value of togetherness! If for some reason you are unable to fast, please still feel welcome to join our movie and Iftar dinner.
Please note: due to great interest, it is no longer possible to register for the event.
