During Het Miljoenennota Gesprek: Economy in times of populism and war, we will discuss these and other current economic issues with experts including Jasper Lukkezen (Utrecht University) on the question of what a war economy is and whether we are heading towards one; Matthijs Korevaar (Erasmus School of Economics) on the housing crisis; and Godfried Engbersen (Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences) and Anna Dijkman (Het Financieele Dagblad) on the Miljoenennota and current economic affairs. The evening will be moderated by Robert Dur (Erasmus School of Economics).
Godfried Engbersen is Professor at Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences and was the chair of the Commission on Social Minimum, which studies the conditions necessary for basic livelihood security.
Jasper Lukkezen is Assistant Professor at Utrecht University, Director of the Professional Training in Financial Economic Policy, and Editor-in-Chief of the economic platform ESB. He conducts research on the economic and legal consequences of a war economy in the Netherlands and has advised the Dutch Parliament on this topic.
Matthijs Korevaar is Associate Professor at Erasmus School of Economics and an expert on the housing market. How has it developed in recent years, and how can the ongoing housing shortage be resolved?
Columnist and journalist Anna Dijkman writes for het Financieele Dagblad. She previously served as Editor-in-Chief of the ING Economic Bureau and co-founded the blog DasKapital.nl. She also produces the podcast Toegevoegde Waarde, where she explores the stories behind the economy.
Robert Dur is Professor at Erasmus School of Economics and president of the Dutch Economic Association (KVS).
