Twelve students and young professionals from France and the Netherlands are meeting in Paris and Rotterdam to give the city of tomorrow a new perspective by transforming construction waste into innovative materials. They will speak together with experts at the 19th edition of the Erasmus-Descartes Conference, which will be held live from Erasmus University Rotterdam on 19 November 2021.
Urban renewal, regeneration and transformation
The 19th edition of the Erasmus-Descartes Conference focuses on the future of urban renewal, regeneration and transformation. The building sector is the largest producer of waste and one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gases in an urban context. However, the reuse of building materials and the development of innovative materials - one of the aspects of the circular economy - offer many future-oriented opportunities in Europe.
About the Erasmus-Descartes Conference
The Erasmus-Descartes Conference was created in 2002 by the Embassy of France in the Netherlands and the Embassy of the Netherlands in France. During the conference, young talents work together with panels of experts to encourage the exchange of expertise between France and the Netherlands, to promote bilateral cooperation and to meet the challenges of tomorrow together.
