Alumni Health Care Management
After the bachelor, I knew what I wanted: to become a manager in (hospital) healthcare. So Health Care Management was the best choice for me. I wanted to work in healthcare (especially in a hospital) but not as a healthcare professional. The combination of healthcare and economics was perfect at ESHPM.
I learned a lot from my fellow students, especially because many students were older and already working in a management position at a healthcare organisation. Also, the classes had a great variety of courses.
After my study, I started working at Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc and worked there as a Quality and Safety advisor for five years. The master was a perfect fit because I learned a lot in the course ‘quality and safety’ and I realised that my manager was using my knowledge in daily practice. After five years, I made a switch to facility management as a project leader and later on to become the manager of the department of logistics. In my new job, I am responsible for all personnel, organisational and financial management. It's a huge step, but with my work experience and master HCM, I am well prepared for this next step. I can recommend this master to anyone!
