Runtime: March 2024 – February 2028
Client: European Union (Horizon program)
Project description
Workforce issues are becoming increasingly pressing, in the Netherlands as well as across the European Union. Especially long-term care for older people is becoming vulnerable, both due to the increasing age of European populations and related growing complexities of healthcare needs. Investing in the resilience of the workforce has therefore become a top priority. In this European-wide project, lead by the University of Stavanger, we set out to both research and improve the resilience of healthcare for older persons. Using both qualitative and quantitative approaches, the project aims to come to a better understanding of organizational mechanisms related to workforce resilience. From this understanding we built and experiment with a reflexive guide to aid healthcare organizations in the long-term healthcare sector to improve resilience. In the project, the team from ESHPM especially focusses on the Dutch case, working closely with long-term care organizations. Furthermore, the team focusses on the conceptual and theoretical understanding of organizational and workforce resilience.
