Project description
The Covid pandemic hits us all hard. Especially within the care sector a strong reaction can be seen to care for a large amount of sometimes very ill patients. Also outside healthcare, people have to deal with measures to curb infection rates. The quality of decision-making in a crisis like this one is of utmost importance. Our project is aimed at the organization of the decision-making process. Looking back, we aim to learn from the decision-making during the first waves of the pandemic. Looking forward, we aim to draw lessons together with the actors involved. Starting point is the need for an ‘adaptive’ kind of governance – a form of governance that is reflexive, and can form itself to uncertain and complex issues. The virus will be with us for some time to come and other crises will present themselves. We will have to learn to live with the uncertainties that this brings. In our project we use the metaphor of the dance to give expression to this adaptive response to crises. How can we learn to dance (better)? By following decision-making in action and by reflecting on this with the actors involved we hope to contribute to this.
