Last Tuesday, on 23 May, our third alumni dinner in collaboration with independent alumni assocation ESHPMa took place. The first alumni dinner after ESHPM's anniversary year, because even without an anniversary, we would still love to see and catch up with alumni. And our alumni agreed, with nearly 200 attendees. What a turnout!
Dinner once again took place at Stadshaven Brewery Rotterdam, where the tastiest beers awaited everyone. The evening was hosted by Gimon de Graaf, Senior Researcher at iMTA. A brief and interesting lecture was also given. This time by alumna Julie Vancoppenolle, graduate of the master's programme Health Economics, Policy & Law in 2020. Julie is currently doing research at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam as a PhD student. In between the courses, she shared about the work she does for one of her projects, "Access to innovative cancer medicines across Europe." This project is part of the European Fair Pricing Network (EFPN).
There was also an interactive element during the walking dinner. After all, how much does everyone remember from about all the knowledge they have amassed during their studies? With questions such as "Which European country has the highest healthcare expenditures?" and "What was the average time that medicines were in the lock/sluice (sluice) in the Netherlands in 2022?", the knowledge of the alumni present was severely tested. In the end, Jelle Klinkhamer, Eky Kaelani and Michiel Zietse managed to secure a spot on the podium. Each went home with a well-filled ESHPM goodie bag.
During the evening, the brewery provided attendees with five delicious courses for dinner and fortunately there was also plenty of time to catch up and meet new people.
Thanks to everyone for a great evening!
