With deep sorrow we share the heartbreaking news of the loss of our dear colleague, Margreet Franken. She leaves behind a devoted husband and a young daughter. Margreet was more than just a committed member of our faculty; she was an extraordinary colleague, whose generosity, passion, and expertise left a lasting impact on many people.
Margreet started her professional career as a nurse, specialised in coronary and intensive care nursing. Over the years, she held various positions in hospitals located in Arnhem, Rotterdam, and Christchurch (New Zealand). In 2008, she obtained a master’s degree with distinction in Health Economics Policy and Law (HEPL) from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Furthermore, in 2014, she obtained her PhD degree from the same university. Following this, she flourished as an outstanding researcher at iMTA and became assistant professor at the Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management.
Her main research interests included drug reimbursement policies and real-world outcomes research. Margreet actively engaged in the national and international HTA community, frequently participating in ISPOR conferences.
Her teaching skills and organizational talents were exceptional. We will fondly remember her passion for teaching and research, as well as her tremendous team spirit. But above all, her sense of humor will be greatly missed. She will remain in our hearts forever.
