Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management (ESHPM) is happy to announce that as of 1 October Dr. Chiara Cadeddu will join ESHPM in the Planetary Health theme of our School. Chiara will be embedded in the Social-Medical Sciences section (professor Anna Nieboer) and will also work with professor Erik van Raaij in the Health Services Management & Organisation section. This is an excellent starting point for ESHPM to further create impact in this important field.
Chiara is a Public Health specialist and now works at Università Catolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome, Italy. While her main area of experience is in vaccines and healthcare education, she gradually moved into planetary health when she took up the role of Scientific Coordinator of the Italian Institute of Planetary Health. In that role she was involved in several European projects, including the recently awarded project in the Horizon Europe HORIZON-HLTH-2023-CARE-04-03 call.
Chiara is also member of the Planetary Health Alliance (PHA) and its European Hub, the Steering Committees of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA) Environment and Health section and HTA section, the Climate-Health Education Working Group of The Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER) and the Working Group on Climate Resilience of Health Systems of the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policy.
Chiara is very committed to the planetary health theme and will bring a strong European network to ESHPM. She has the right skills to build sustainable relations for ESHPM and in the planetary health field.
Her appointment is the first appointment as part of the ESHPM investment agenda, strengthening her presence in sustainable healthcare workforce, global health and planetary health. More appointments will follow in due course.
