dr. PV (Pawan) Bhansing

Biography

Pawan Bhansing is Assistant Professor of Cultural Organisation, Marketing and Management. His main research interest is the cultural and creative industries and how their entrepreneurs and managers balance creative and economic goals.

Before joining the Department of Arts and Culture Studies he was a Postdoc at the in the department of Media and Communication were he researched motivation and innovation processes of co-located creative entrepreneurs and focused on passion, inspiration and identity. This was part of the NWO funded project ‘Cultures of Innovations in the Creative Industries’ (CICI).

Bhansing was also a lecturer and PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam Business School in the Strategy and Marketing department. There he investigated managerial perceptions, cognitions and decision making in the context of film production, music festivals and performing arts. He obtained a Master of Science in Social and Organizational Psychology at Leiden University, where he specialised in economic psychology and consumer behavior.
