On Monday 3 March 2025, Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication (ESHCC) officially launched the alumni student mentoring programme MentorMe. Following a successful pilot in 2023, students at ESHCC will connect with alumni professionals for unique tailored career advice, or a sounding board for everyday things they encounter during their studies. The programme will run until the end of August.
Benefits
MentorMe connects students and alumni of ESHCC through mentoring. The programme provides an online platform where they can build supportive, professional relationships based on their shared study experiences at ESHCC.
One of the many benefits of MentorMe is the positive change the platform initiates. Within the programme, students and alumni exchange knowledge, ideas and insights and learn from each other. It is a welcome addition for students on the path to their future careers.
How it works
To become a mentor, alumni are invited to create an account on the MentorMe platform. This is very simple, as they can link it to their LinkedIn account or manually add information about their study programme and work experiences. Alumni can specify what kind of advice they want to give, for example career advice, starting a business or how to apply for a master's degree.
Students, or ‘mentees’, then approach an alumnus/alumna with a profile relevant to them to schedule an online counselling session. They can volunteer as mentees or as part of a course on career orientation.
Do you want to get involved?
You can still sign up via the online registration form & participate as mentor or mentee in ESHCC MentorMe!
‘The platform offers a unique opportunity to gain insight, be inspired and network with ESHCC alumni. It is an invaluable experience that bridges student life and working life’
