On Thursday 18 January 2024, ESHCC's new research institute will be launched: Erasmus Research Institute for Media, Culture, History & Society (ERMeCHS). ERMeCHS represents the successful integration of the institutes History@Erasmus and Erasmus Research Centre for Media, Communication and Culture (ERMeCC).
The launch of ERMeCHS will reflect on the future of research at our faculty. Visiting Professor Pierre-Yves Donzé will give a lecture. He is an expert on the history and development of global competition in companies, especially in the luxury goods and medical technology sectors.
Interdisciplinary research
With ERMeCHS, ESHCC is establishing an interdisciplinary institute where high-quality basic research is conducted in the fields of media, communication, culture, art, history and society. ERMeCHS aims to become a leading research institute at the intersection of Social Sciences and Humanities that explains and solves complex societal challenges.
ERMeCHS focuses on 5 strategic research areas: Globalisation of Culture and Society, Mediatization and Digitalization, Innovation in Cultural and Creative Industries, Sustainability in Culture and Societies, and Diversity and Inclusion. The research community is grouped in 13 interdisciplinary research clusters.
