Managing Art and Cultural Heritage in Global Markets (MAGMa)

Mobility within Europe and beyond is built into the curriculum with opportunities to experience work placements in a range of private and public art and cultural institutions. And guest lectures are provided by leading academics and professionals from the art market, museums, and other heritage organisations to give you a deeper insight in the field of art and cultural heritage.

Introduction activities

Semester 1 in Lisbon, semester 2 in Paris, and semester 3 in Rotterdam all start with an orientation week during which students get acquainted with the university and the city.

Summer and winter school

MAGMa Students will have the opportunity to participate in an optional summer school, in between the second and third trimester, at the Hunterian Museum at the University of Glasgow, in partnership with the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC.

The programme also offers an optional winter school, in between the third and fourth semester, at TATA Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, During this winter school, students will focus on museums and heritage, the art market and cultural tourism operating in one of India’s major business and cultural centers.

Language opportunities

Access to language learning opportunities are available throughout the two year programme as an extracurriculum activity.
