ESHCC MentorMe

Support the future generation
Students sitting on a bench on campus and chatting with each other

Perhaps you remember your time at the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication (ESHCC), especially your orientation and preparation for the job market. How difficult it can be to figure out what you want to do after your studies, who to talk to, or how to network. Advice from someone who has been in your position would have been helpful.

This is why Erasmus University has introduced the MentorMe programme. You can be part of it by becoming a mentor!

About ESHCC MentorMe

ESHCC MentorMe is an online platform that connects current students and alumni of the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication through mentoring. The mentoring programme allows students and alumni to exchange knowledge, ideas and insights, and to learn from each other.

After a successful pilot, the ESHCC MentorMe programme will be officially launched on Monday 3 March 2025

Mentoring season

The ESHCC MentorMe programme is extra-curricular (not compulsory) and runs from March up and until August 2025. All current ESHCC master students can sign up to participate in the mentoring programme. An evaluation will follow at the end of the mentoring season.

Why join?

As mentor you can create impact by providing the next generation of ESHCC students with valuable career advice or by acting as a sounding board for everyday things they encounter as students. The mentoring programme also allows you to expand your own network, train your coaching skills, and meet like-minded professionals.

  • Give the next generation the advice you wish you had received
  • Boost your interpersonal relationships and coaching skills
  • Gain access to fresh ideas, new ways of thinking and a pool of potential internship/job applicants

  • Explore potential careers
  • Gain tailored career advice
  • Get tips on entering the job market
  • Increase your professional network
  • Boost your self-confidence

How does it work?

  1. Register as an alumni mentor by filling in the registration form below. If you yourself are also looking for career advice or a sounding board, or you want to learn from the experience of another mentor (peer-to-peer mentoring), you can register as a mentor as well as a mentee (choose ‘both’). Of course, you may also register as 'mentee' only.
  2. After registration, you will receive an invitation to create an account on the MentorMe platform.
  3. You can use your LinkedIn account to fill in your profile, or you can add all the information manually. In your MentorMe account, you can also indicate what type of advice you are willing to give.
  4. The ESHCC MentorMe programme officially starts on Monday 3 March 2025: make sure your profile is ready before this date. From this date until the end of the mentoring season, students can send you a request for an online consultation call.
  5. Submit your availability via the MentorMe platform and keep it updated throughout the mentoring season: this will help students to book consultation calls only at times when you are available.
  6. We kindly ask you to commit to (at least) 2-3 online consultation calls during the mentoring season (March-August).

Are you ready to share your knowledge and career experiences with current students?

Then fill in the form below!
