ERRC is a centre of excellence for the study of Erasmus of Rotterdam and his influence on intellectual history and early modern society. ERRC's research focus is related to the expertise of scholars collaborating on Renaissance Studies, Christian Humanism and Early Modern Intellectual History both within and outside EUR.
ERRC strives to operate globally, and to create, facilitate and maintain a world-wide network of Erasmus scholars and experts. In bringing together academic expertise and talent around the world, our centre creates possibilities of making positive, societal impact on an international scale. ERRC realizes this through a variety of channels, one of which is the setting up of fellowships. In close collaboration with the Rotterdam Public Library, the Erasmus of Rotterdam Research Centre allows international researchers the opportunity to engage with and study the vast Erasmus Collection kept in the Rotterdam Public Library. In doing so, the centre is a platform for global, academic connection.
Moreover, the centre organises the Erasmus Seminars, monthly (online) research seminars organised in close co-operation with the Rotterdam Public Library. In these seminars researchers present their thoughts and findings and engage with their fellow colleagues on a variety of themes relating to Erasmus and the broader context of Intellectual History.
