Visit China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) Delegation for Deepened Collaboration

On 28 November 2018, a delegation from China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) visited Erasmus School of Law for further collaboration between the two universities in the future.

Headed by Prof. Ming Hu (University Council Chair), the CUPL delegation consisted of Prof. Lijiang Zhu (Vice Dean, School of International Law), Prof. Lan Xu (Director, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange), Prof. Qingbin Wang (Deputy Director, Research Office), Ms. Linlin Liu (Director, Press Office), and Ms. Fei Gao (Office of International Cooperation and Exchange). In addition, Dr Qingyu Meng (Counselor of Education, China Embassy in the Netherlands) attended the meeting.

Prof. Rutger Engels, Rector Magnificus of EUR, welcomed the delegation. From ESL, Prof. Fabian Amtenbrink (Vice Dean of ESL), Prof. Arnold de Graaf (Professor of Tax law), Prof. Michael Faure (Professor of Comparative Private Law and Economics), Prof. Harold Koster (Associate Professor of Corporate and Financial law), and Dr. Cheng Bian (Postdoc, Erasmus China Law Center) attended the meeting. Ms Weichia Tseng (Director of China Affairs, EUR) also attended the meeting.

Located in Beijing, CUPL is one of the most prestigious universities in China known for its legal education and research as its strongest specialization. CUPL and ESL have a long history of cooperation in the exchange of students and researchers. During this meeting, both parties acknowledged the importance of further and deepened collaboration in the future, especially on the interchange of students and researchers, and the promotion of joint legal research and education in the future.
