As a child of the 21st century, I have always been involved in media activities and interacted with others through online platforms. I wanted to understand how this field works and decided to apply on IBCoM. After my first year, I can say that I definitely made the right decision! This program allows me not only to explore the media industry but also to develop myself in a direction which appeals to me the most. At the beginning of the second year, students can narrow their studies by choosing from various fields, which focuses on arts, journalism, entertainment, etc. I am currently thinking of taking business area and develop myself in that direction. The other thing that fascinated me in IBCoM was the fact that I would meet people from all over the world. Through this academic year, I made a lot of friends who came from different countries to study in Erasmus. Communicating with them was such an exciting and interesting cultural experience!

During my first year, I decided to get involved in extracurricular activities. I started doing sports, sang in the music band with fellow Erasmus students, as well as became a member of the Arts and Culture committee to organize related events and started to write blogs for IBCoMagazine. Erasmus university gave ample opportunities to satisfy my hobbies and desires.

Diversity and architecture in Rotterdam

I feel very comfortable studying in Rotterdam. It reminds me of Saint-Petersburg - a city in Russia where I was born. If I have free time, I usually cycle by the river or through the city and admire the diversity of architecture, impressive huge bridges, wide streets and the abundance of graffiti. Business skyscrapers made of glass and stone inspire me to work harder for the future goals, night-life and authentic pubs and bars tune in to relax after a hard day of studying and get to know locals. I am sure - I will never get bored in Rotterdam!
