What I think really differentiates IBCoM from other communication related study programs is its truly international environment and the fact that because it’s quite a small program, there is a real feeling of community.

“Choosing a study-progamme that is the right fit for you isn’t always easy. After I finished high-school I initially enrolled in a different studyprogram than IBCoM at Erasmus; but I realized it wasn’t what I was looking for. At that point, I started looking for another program to join. I already knew that I wanted to stay in Rotterdam because I love everything it has to offer, and as I was already familiar with Erasmus I knew what high quality education I could expect. In terms of my interests, these were quite broad, but I had always been interested in learning more about communication and different cultures. After doing some research keeping these things in mind, I ended up finding IBCoM!”
Applying your knowledge
“One of the things that I love the most about IBCoM is how it goes beyond the theory by challenging students to directly apply the knowledge we have gained. For most university programs in the Netherlands for example, doing an internship is not a requirement, however, at IBCoM it is. The great thing about this is that it forces you to step out of your comfort zone, which I’ve found has also really helped me in forming a plan for my future.”

I really feel supported by my fellow students, and I’ve made friends for life here! Although everyone experiences a period of adjustment at the beginning whilst getting used to the new environment, once you get used to it, it is more than worth it!”
