Where did you do your internship and what was your position?

I did my internship at Codaisseur as a Social Media intern. They offer workshops and bootcamps in full-stack junior web-development and help people find jobs after they have completed the program.

What were your main tasks?

My main tasks were to come up with new and creative content ideas to promote Codasseur's products. I mainly managed their Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter accounts by scheduling posts and community management by replying to comments and messages from people. Due to COVID-19, we had to switch to remote teaching so I was also helping with successfully communicating that to our followers. 

How did you find this internship despite the challenges of COVID-19?

I found this internship on Magnet.me back in February after applying to about 20 different positions. I was called in for an interview and received the email that I got the job the next day! I started in March, but I could only spend 4 days at the office before the crisis hit and we had to close down the campus. After, most of us worked from home. 

How did you work from home and managed to stay productive?

I was working with a lovely team and we kept each other focused and communicated our struggles and projects on a weekly basis. Every morning there was an online standup meeting where we discussed how we feel, what we got done yesterday, and what we were going to do that day. Of course, it was hard, but I feel like we were doing a great job at staying productive. 

Any tips for students looking for internships?

I would say don't overthink it. No one really knows what is going to happen and everyone is doing the best they can, so keep searching for opportunities! Even if it seems impossible to find something in this situation, there is always something you can do. My company hired 2 other interns even after the outbreak, so you never know :)
