University Library building closed during summer

Services University Library and Rotterdamsch Leeskabinet from the Polak building
Library building closed due to renovation

This summer, the University Library (UL) will have the carpet replaced in the entire building and extra study spaces will be added.  The building will be closed from Saturday 13 July to Sunday 18 August. The library doors will reopen on Monday 19 August.

We are making every effort to ensure that the impact on students, staff and visitors is minimal:

  • For our services, please visit the temporary service desk on the 4th floor of the Polak Building during the closure.
  • The opening hours of this desk are Monday to Sunday from 11.00 to 15.00.
  • You can ask your questions here and collect and return your books from the UL and the Rotterdamsch Leeskabinet (RLK). There is also a selection of books from the RLK on display.
  • You can study in the Sanders, Polak and Langeveld Buildings. It is not necessary to reserve a study space there.

More information about this and our other services can be found on the dedicated webpage

Please note:
From 8 July, preparations will start in the UL. Books and journals from the open stacks will be moved to another location and will no longer be available for borrowing. The relocation may cause some inconvenience.
