Marc Verboord has given a presentation on May 12 at the In Duplo conference 2022 “Data & Society: now and in the future”. At the conference, various guests from politics, academia, media, and business discussed the role of data and technology companies in society, and which positive and negative effects can be observed.
Verboord spoke about the complexities of contemporary media usage, the importance of institutional trust, and how information flows spread via networks, which also offers opportunities for positive social change.
Amongst the other speakers were member of the European parliament Paul Tang, professor European Data protection and Privacy rights Herke Kranenborg, and head of Innovation and Digital Media at the VPRO Geert-Jan Bogaerts.
