This month (May 2018) Dr. Delia Dumitrica will be an associated member at the Research Institute of the University of Bucharest. During her stay, Dr. Dumitirca will be doing research on the role of digital technologies during the 2017-2018 anti-corruption protests in Romania.
Building upon her work on digital activism in Canada and the Netherlands, this project looks into one of the newest and most exciting waves of grassroots mobilization across Romanian society. "By means of interviews with citizens who actively made use of Facebook to create new opportunities for civic action and mobilization, my project seeks to bring forth emerging forms of (mediated) engagement and repertoires for collective action."
