Dr. Anna Mignosa has received an Erasmus+ Sector Skills Alliances grant for the project CHARTER - Cultural heritage actions to refine training, education and roles. The project, led by the University of Barcelona, brings together 21 full members, 7 affiliated partners and 19 associated partners. The consortium has coalesced around the need for sectorial recognition and structural change with cultural heritage.
The four-year project aims at creating a lasting, comprehensive strategy to ensure Europe has the necessary cultural heritage skills to support sustainable societies and economies. The project seeks to conduct an international, multidisciplinary research on cultural heritage focusing especially on the gaps between education and occupational needs, develop models to improve education for reducing skill shortages and mismatches, and overcome the paucity of cultural heritage statistical data.
Colleagues dr. Mariangela Lavanga and PhD candidate Marleen Hofland-Mol will contribute to the research with their knowledge on Fashion and textile, and crafts in the Netherlands and Germany, respectively, in order to investigate the needs of the craft sector.
The aim of this project is to accomplish the valorisation mission of universities also opening opportunities for new fruitful partnerships with organisations active in the craft sector both in the Netherlands and abroad.
